Finger Trauma

Flat iron : 1    Tatum : 0

My poor Tate came into contact with a hot iron today while visiting her BF Kelly at the dangerous Fantastic Sam's workplace. She has two really big blisters, the length of her two fingers. A bowl of cold water and a blessing from Dad was the remedy.

No picture issued from the press due to... its just gross
Drill : 1    Dad : 0

My poor Grigg's left hand has taken another beating. While making Grandma's food storage shelves, on the very last screw, the drill sliced open the tip of his pointer finger. And part of his nail, ouch! A tetanus shot will be administered in the morning via instant care.

Sally Hansen : 1   Mom : 1

And as for me, the mom, I bought some new Sally Hansen nail decals to put on. A good job present to my fingers for not getting injured today.

Be Free Hair!

So I decided that I'm done doing my hair.

Well not completely, but I have cut my hair "doing" time down by about 90%. And it is amazing.
I got a Brazilian Blowout (greatest invention ever) and got rid of a lot of frizz, and cut down on drying time. Then I rediscovered Frizz-Ease Dream Curls

Now I:
1. go to bed with a wet head, wake up, spritz and scrunch
2. towel dry out of the shower, blow dry just my roots to almost dry, then spritz and scrunch

Then let nature takes it course.

Some days its BIG. Some days its messy. Some days I feel like I'm in a Barbie coloring book.

But for five days now I've felt like my hair was done in less then 15 minutes.  And I always feel so much better about myself if I feel like I've gotten ready. So the natural wave is here to stay.

And here is a picture of my cute family :)

Almost Spring

I keep waiting for the real Spring to come out. It keeps tricking me with nice days, like today, followed by snow. Which happened yesterday, the day before, and will likely happen tomorrow.

I got Tatum's Easter basket all filled and set up (I am super excited and couldn't wait). So now its been sitting in my food storage closet for a few weeks getting dusty probably. I didn't get her one last year because she was still just a floppy baby, so this will be her first basket! Yay.

She is changing so much lately. Physically in the last two weeks she has grown out of all of her clothes. She's sporting high waters and almost belly shirts until the sun finally decides to stick around and she can whip out her box of summer clothes!!

Personality wise she is more clingy to me then ever. Is this phase? Some mornings she won't even let Greg get her out of bed, she has to have Mama. Yesterday at church we had a special meeting in Relief Society for ALL the women in the ward. The men took over Primary and Nursery for the last hour and I got to go and actually listen to an awesome lesson by our Bishop. But poor little Tatum was soooooo sad that I left her in nursery. She cried and cried and didn't want to play. They told me she finally calmed down(ish) but stayed in the corner with her cup and a ball, and anytime one of the men tried to come close or get her to play she would start crying again. Poor baby.

She is talking so much more now, and will say 3 and 4 words sentences. It is very cute. The other day at Grandma's she walked into the laundry room and asked, "what are you washing?". Ha! She's so smart.

I can't believe what a big kid she's becoming. And even though sometimes she gets cranky, and a little crazy, and almost gave me a black eye this morning (with her heel), I love her so so so much!

Wedding Week

Great Grandma, Mom, Mimi, and Baby

We've spent the past week hanging out with family. My uncle Mike got married on Thursday, so everyone was in town. Tatum loved, loved, LOVED having her Grandpa and Mimi staying with us.

We were non stop busy the whole trip. Rehearsal dinner, pedicures, shopping, Zupas, wedding, Mimi's Cafe, Gardner Village, BBQ, Bridal veil falls, General Conference. Whew!

We missed a few naps and had some late nights, but Tate did really well. Hopefully she'll get back into the swing of things quickly. This mama isn't ready to give up her baby's 8 o'clock bed time. I didn't even notice that it is still light outside now at 8 since we haven't put her to bed on time for a few weeks! I love that we have longer days, and that summer is near.
