Cheesecake Factory

Today was the cheesecake factory's 30th anniversary and were selling slices for just $1.50! That was such a good deal we went with a couple of friends to try it out... YUMMY!
I had the white chocolate and raspberry and Greg had something like chocolate peanut butter cookie dough truffle. It was a mouth full.
I think we spent more on gas on the way there then we actually paid for our food.
It was worth it.
p.s. I love the look of sheer terror on Donovan's face as his cheescake was falling over just when the picture was taken. Dont worry, it landed safely on the plate :-)

One For The Record Books

Well today may very well be the day that goes down in the record books for the biggest mistake I, Greg, have ever made. I let Dani get a credit card! I gave her a good prep talk before I handed it over and almost had her sign some sort of limited use disclaimer. This is a trial run and we will see how things turn out. Wish me luck!

The Experiment

Today is day one of my one month experiment of being a vegetarian. Don't ask me why, I just wanted to try something new and see if I could actually last a whole month without eating meat.
I rounded up some recipes online and from some of my cookbooks and made a menu for this weeks dinners. I think I'll do fine when I am at home and can actually cook, but lunches will be hard. I only get a 1/2 hour break at work so fast and easy is what I need. I guess if I really wanted to I could make my lunch the night before... but I probably wont.
Anyways, here is a list of the scrumptious veggie meals I will be having this week:

Spinach Stuffed Mushrooms
Zucchini Casserole
Broccoli Rice Dinner
Loaded Potatoes - no bacon bits
Spaghetti Alfredo
and Veggie Lasagna

I think Greg's up for most of it, but he said I can make the stuffed mushrooms on Wednesday when he is on the camp out with the young men :-)

The Gulfarium

Today we did a bit of shopping and then Gulfariumed it up. Then we went to the beach to top it off of course. We got to touch a sea cucumber, horseshoe crabs (aka sea armadillos), and star fish. Pretty cool
We tried to take a family picture to use in a Christmas card... we'll have to try again tomorrow

Tyler's Farewell

Our brother Tyler is going on a mission to Vera Cruz Mexico, leaving in three days! We went up to Heber to hear him give his talk in church and then to Bob and LuAnns with the rest of the family for dinner. We are so excited for him and wish him the best of luck! We Love Our (almost) Elder Brandt!!

Its like Christmas in June

*notice the time on this post*

Today is my day off! Woo hoo! Since switching to my new salon I haven't had a set day off and probably wont for a few more weeks, until we hire one more stylist. I don't mind which day I have off since Greg never seems to have Wednesdays off anyways.
Last night I was over at my aunts pretty late, and when I came home G and I decided to watch a movie. No worries, I didn't have to wake up for work in the morning so I can stay up as late as I want.
At about 12:30 Greg was pretty much out and I was still wide awake. But I decided to turn off the show and try to fall asleep anyway.
About half hour ago I woke up, saw the sun shining outside, and was wide awake again! Then I looked at the clock, 6:15 in the morning! What the heck! So Ive been laying in bed wondering why I am awake on my day to sleep in when i went to bed so late last night.
I decided its because I'm getting my hair done today, and my inner child has kicked in, and this is just about as exciting as Christmas!
I'll post of pic of the new do' when I get home :)
