My Genius Two Year Old

I was so excited to see this drawing Tatum made the other day.

 If you can't tell, it is a picture of a pirate 

(her first drawing with a person!) (that can actually be identified as a person) 

also there is a pirate ship and treasure.

I am one proud mama :)

We've had a fun weekend

Friday G had the day off, went fishing in the morning, then we swapped Tatum and I went to my friend Shelby's to sew a romper for Bootsie. I am a slow sewer, and only got the top half done, but I am so proud of myself for how it is turning out.

Saturday Tate and I drove Jenna around looking for a car. Not fun. We didnt find anything, But we were happy to spend some time with our Jenna who's finally home from "Mania", as T refers to it.

We three also stopped by Val's for a few hours and chatted and helped her make cookies for a party that night.

Next we went to the Riverwoods splash pad with Brenna, Charlie, and Claire. T was upset that I didnt bring her bathing suit, but she soon realized it was fun to get your clothes wet too. They had radio Disney there playing games and giving out snow cones, stickers, and baloon animals. Tate asked for a pink and blue dolphin.

And then late last night I met up with a bunch of girls from the ward to get frozen yogurt and watch What to Expect When Youre Expecting. The movie was hilarious, and I had alot of fun getting to know the girls better. 

Today we went to church. Tatum went to nursery without crying (though she did have a big frown on her face... baby steps). My back/side have been hurting lately, so Greg let me take a nap before he headed out for home teaching. When I woke up I made a new recipe from Pinterest, Cheesy Chicken Ranch Lasagna. It was pretty good, but I think if I make it again I'll add in some sort of vegetable, and maybe make the sauce less ranchy.

Now, after an hour and twenty minutes getting Tate ready and put into bed, I'm going to find a movie to watch on Netflix and cuddle with my love on the couch. Happy Sunday everyone.

Dentist

Tate's first trip to the dentist

We've been talking about how fun it is to go and have the dentist count your teeth and brush them with his special toothbrush, so she was beyond excited. Dad went first to get her ready, and she got to help hold the mirror and count his teeth.

She also got to press the buttons that make the chair go up and down. So cool :)

She sat perfectly still and got those little chompers flossed and polished, then she picked out an orange toothbrush and orange floss.

Of course Popcorn came along for moral support, and she got a check up too.

My Ballerina

Trying to get a good shot of a two year old doing ballet is not an easy task. Every time I tried to take one of her face she turned around. So I have about 20 pictures of the her back :) That ok, its a cute back.

She is the youngest girl in her class, but she is one of the best. She is very good at keeping her attention on Ms. Lynn and following instructions. If we have to do makeup classes she gets to go with the 4 year old class, and she keeps up with them too. In June they are doing Swan Lake for their recital, and Tate and her class get to be bunnies. They practice bunny hopping every where they go.

Five Braids

Tatum insisted on five braids for our ward bbq this weekend. One would not do. Two? Out of the question. It had to be five.
She got many compliments on them, so I guess she knows what shes talking about.

The Many Faces of...

This little girl has got a ton of personality. She goes from 0-60 in about 3 seconds, always keeping us on our toes. As much as Greg and I try to be, she's pretty much the boss around here. She's stubborn, sassy, and quite ornery, but she also gives the sweetest hugs and kisses. I love to hear her say "thank you Mom!"

And this is a classic Tate face. I see it at least 50 times a day. 

New Camera, Old Picnik

Used the last of the tax return and got myself a Cannon Rebel T2i! I love it and and super excited to learn more how to use all of the manual functions. The store I bought it from threw in a four week class, and the library is having a two part class next month. So I got in just in time.

I had my second Midwife appointment yesterday. There wasn't much to it since I am still not very far along, but it is always great to hear that little heartbeat. Tate came with me and thought it was pretty cool to hear the baby, and to watch me pee in the cup. She kept asking "why are you doing that?" very confused. I can't wait to start feeling this little one moving around. That is one of the best parts of being pregnant!

Fit Pregnancy tells me this little one is about 4 1/2 inches long, about the size of a small gerbil :)
