Sotterly Plantation

While we were in MD Greg and I got to go on our first date post baby :) Mimi watched Tatum and got reservations for us at Sotterly Plantation for a ghost tour.
The plantation is one of the oldest in MD dating back to the 18th century with most of its original buildings, including one of the slave cabins.

First we went to a pizza place called Lido's where my sister Sierra works. She was our server, and was very nice to us :) I think they were pretty busy so she couldnt talk to us for very long, but we left her a good tip anyway.

Then we drove right down to the banks of the Patuxent River where our Ghost Tour awaited!
It was pouring rain and pitch black when we got there, and the tour was outside!
We waited for our guide in one of the barns I think, and then headed back out into the rain. They had two different tours, one family style for all ages, and one for 16 and up. I am the biggest chicken in the whole world when it comes to scary things, so we did the family style :)

The first ghost we met was a women hiding from the British whos husband and baby had been killed. The next was a slave. Then a British officer with these weird creeping crawling men/dogs? I dont really know what they were, but they came up from the woods with glowing eyes and really freaked me out!
Next was a British officer and then the son and daughter of the owner. Lastly we found out our tour guide had been dead all along too!
I guess it wasnt very scary, it was just kind of creepy because all of the stories were true, and the people had actually been there and died there.

Spooooooky :)

Maryland

Tate did really well on her first plane ride. We feed her twice, changed her three times, and she pretty much slept the rest of the flight. We luckily we able to switch seats around so we could sit together. Im sure the 16 year old boy who shared our row loved the front row seat to the poopy diaper parade. It rained non stop for the first 5 days... the whole time Greg was here. But we went sight seeing anyway. Here is the tomb of the unknown soldiers.

Mimi and Tatum showing off her awesome new boots :)

Oyster Festival

What trip to Maryland would be complete without some good old fashioned oyster shucking? Even though it was pouring rain, we headed out to the oyster festival with the baby :)
Everyone had to try a bite of the oyster stew.

We got to watch a jazz band, see many crafts, and eat deep fried oreos. Tatum was so bundled up in blankets and sitting in the sling when we took her out to feed her she was sweating!
Here we are with the Oyster King

Tatum's Blessing

She was able to be blessed by her Daddy while we were up visiting my family in Maryland. It was a beautiful blessing for a beautiful little girl. She was so sweet and didn't make a peep while she was up at the front of the chapel. With Aunt Jenna

This is not the best facial expression, but the only picture we have off the whole dress! :) Her Grandma and Grandpa Houghton got her the sweet little dress and bonnet, her pink bracelet was from Sister Butterfield, and Nana crocheted her some little booties.

This 'n That

She was waiting for her clothes to get out of the dryer and fell asleep :) Trying out her new track suit, still a little big. Greg thinks she looks like Yoda with the hood on.

She has finally noticed the little animals hanging in from of her face, and she likes them.

Hangin' out with her old man

She's not quite big enough to sit in this yet. This was a test run.
